Hi Fredericka,
Lucy turned 2 in September, so I thought it was time for an update and some pictures. She is about 145 pounds (of pure muscle) and her back is hip level. She is still kind of lanky, but is starting to fill out in the chest. She is probably the sweetest and easiest dog we have ever owned. Jim is retired now so she spends alot of time during the day outside with him and Gus, our Labrador. Gus is still her best friend and if he is outside and she is in she will stand by the window and whine. Her favorite place is our bed which she crawls onto when we get up in the morning (as you can see by the picture, or she will sneak upstairs when no one is looking and crawl up there for a nap. She is great with our two cats. We took both dogs on our camping vacation this summer and other than the fact it was a little crowded in our trailer she did great. The picture that shows her on the lap of our son-in-law – she actually did that herself, it is not posed. He sat down on the couch and she just loves him and proceeded to back her butt right up and plunked down on his lap. It was quite a surprise to him – needless to say!!! As you can probably tell we love her to pieces and spoil her.
Thanks for breeding such a great dog.

Hi Fredericka and Lucy,
I thought it was time to send some updated pictures now that Lucy is 1 years old as of September 16. She is absolutely the sweetest dog ever. She is loved very much in this house. She is also quite spoiled. She and Gus (the yellow lab) sleep on their dog beds next to our bed at night, but they both quietly climb onto our bed in the early morning! Needless to say there is not much room for us! As you can tell by the pictures she and Gus are best of friends! The one where they are looking out the window – they are watching for Jim to come home from work. He usually throws the ball for them outside when he gets home and they love it. The other day I had to take Gus to the vet for his checkup and we were running late so I hurried him out of the house. Jim said that after we left Lucy became very agitated and began to whine and cry. He took her outside and she stood in the yard looking down our long driveway and kept whining. She doesn’t like to be away from Gus at all!
She weighed in a couple of weeks ago at 116 pounds. She is really tall – about 34 inches at the shoulder – and all legs. If I remember right her mother was very tall also. She is very friendly and her tail wags so hard when people come over that you have to get out of the way or you get whipped by it!! Thanks again for such a beautiful dog. We absolutely love her to pieces.

Hi Fredericka and Lucy,
I decided it was time to send some pictures of our dear little Lucy! (daugher of Dixie Sue and Gideon – 9/16/07). She’s not so little anymore tho. She will be 5 months in about a week and is already weighing in at 64 lbs. She seems to be all legs right now. She is doing well in her puppy obedience class. I plan to enroll her again when this one is done. I figure at this stage she can’t get enough of obedience training. She loves Gus (our Yellow Lab) and he loves her. She loves the snow and tramping through the woods with us. She has such a sweet temperament. Our vet told me he was very pleased with that. Jim and I and our daughter Heather love her to pieces and she is quite spoiled. I’ve attached a few pictures of her. Hope all is well with you.
Take care.
