“Goliath M sighting, we found you.”

August 5, 2010

Greetings Bob and Fredericka Wagner, Our names are John and Lisa E., from Davis, California. Two weeks ago my husband saw the biggest, most wonderful and beautiful dog along a bike path in West Sacramento, California. He quickly came back to the house, informing everyone they “had to come out and see the ‘biggest and most beautiful’ dog he had ever seen”. However, when he returned the two were gone! He did not get the chance to get up close and meet the dog or his owner.

John and our two young daughters walked about a half mile in both directions, but still were unaware of the direction the two had gone.

The other night (two weeks later to be exact) when we attended the same friend’s home, my husband could not stop talking about this beautiful and HUGE dog. During that conversation, our friends were in fact aware of that dog, although did not know his name or that of his owner, but did know that he would be walking along the levee bike path within that same hour. And, promptly my husband began his quest to seek out this ‘Beautiful and HUGE dog’. And as he walked the levee, he asked everyone that would stop. Finally, he met someone who identified the HUGE dog as ‘Goliath’. So… anxiously we sat and we waited. Sure enough like clockwork, he came around the corner and we all ran to greet this beautiful and HUGE ‘Gentle Giant’ named ‘Goliath M’… and also HIS wonderful owner Frank who was out for his nightly walk with their three month old baby girl. We talked and visited with ‘Goliath M’ over that next 30 to 40 minutes, and were kindly informed of his breed and his gentle and pleasing nature. We were also informed of your wonderful breeding facility where Goliath had come from. We were able to see firsthand his gentle nature with our two young daughters, as well as the handful of smaller dogs that also came to greet them. We were intrigued by his gentle and loving personality. We were told that Goliath was just two years old and was about 36 inches in height and weighed #180 pounds. We were surprised to hear that he still had more than six months of growing time left!

Needless to say, my family has been reading everything we can about this wonderful breed and how the American Mastiff has evolved since 2000. We are pleased to know that the wet mouth has been remedied, as well as some of the other disorders associated with large breed dogs, since we will have our dog live indoors! We are a family of six, having four children, although only two are under the age of 8. We have a large home with a very large open back yard, and are now extremely interested in learning more about YOUR dogs (your family)! We would like to know how we can get on the waiting list for a dog from YOUR farm… My husband and I both work from home, and know that any dog we bring home will be loved and cared for. In 2008 we lost our Chocolate Lab ‘Axel’ to cancer; he was (only) 16 years young. We were not even ready to consider another dog until we met “Goliath M” from the FlyingWFarm. We are now anxious to hear more from you and to get more information about adopting one (or two) of your Gentle Giant dogs to add to our family! (you have our permission to post this)

Anxiously awaiting,

John and Lisa E.

Here’s Isabella 8 ½ mos pregnant. She stands by our boy Goliath — 175 lbs at one year of age. His daddy was Gideon and mommy was Hanna. He’s quite the celebrity around our neighborhood since he likes everyone to include kids and other dogs. People I don’t even know call him by name as many of their neighbors have mentioned him. He’s an ausome dog and we really love him. I’m told some others will be getting with you for their own American Mastiff in the near future. Looking East and awaiting the Lord’s return…

Here’s another pic of Goliath M. Father Gideon, mother Hanna.
At 5 months and 3 weeks, he is 86 lbs. He is the most beautiful dog in the neighborhood and gets attention everywhere he goes. He is the most lovable dog ever – good with every person and every dog. We are soooo thankful to have him..
